AGCO Innovation Center Randers and Ambolt AI in development collaboration

Table of Contents

The AGCO Innovation Center Randers is part of the global AGCO corporation, where new ideas and solutions are continuously explored and delivered across software, hardware, and mechanics.

At AGCO’s Innovation Center in Randers, a variety of large and small projects are always in motion. Here, Ambolt AI contributes highly specialized consulting services within AI technologies. While we can’t yet disclose the final product, we can confidently say that we’re helping AGCO create groundbreaking solutions that will deliver significant value to end users.

The partnership was established to support the Innovation Center’s core competencies and add specialist expertise—particularly in Computer Vision—to various projects. It also enables the flexibility of bringing in an external partner with up-to-date knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies. In addition to Computer Vision, the projects also involve neural networks, and programming in C++, ROS, and Python.

“The collaboration with Ambolt AI has been seamless. From day one, their consultants became a natural part of our development team and have contributed real value to our projects. Beyond bringing new methods and ideas, the consultants have been extremely proactive in engaging with the rest of the team. That kind of proactive collaboration is crucial for us to maintain our agile way of working and avoid unnecessary processes.”

The culture at Innovation Center Randers is agile, which has made it easy for Ambolt AI’s consultants to integrate smoothly into different teams and projects. Both parties share the same mindset around innovation, working according to The Agile Manifesto and a Build-Measure-Learn approach.

This agile project model ensures that everyone is aligned on goals and resource allocation, enabling effective collaboration both physically and virtually.

Start Small

One of Ambolt AI’s first tasks was to test a simple idea: Could it work? Was there a foundation for launching a full-scale project?

We started with raw data and began testing the hypothesis using various techniques to reach a proof of concept. The conclusion was clear: with more data, the project was feasible. This has now paved the way for a full project aiming to make a specific machine type more efficient and significantly increase product quality.

Scale Fast

Following the proof of concept, Ambolt AI has been involved in the next phase: launching the full project and building the infrastructure. We’ve developed the project pipeline—from data collection and annotation to training models for a Computer Vision / Deep Learning solution.

The collaboration includes weekly status meetings, with positive feedback on both the quality and speed of progress. Results have already been delivered in record time.

Ongoing Projects

Joining a large project in its later stages can still deliver substantial value. Ambolt AI joined a multi-year project at a more mature phase, and after a short ramp-up with close collaboration on-site at AGCO Innovation Center Randers, the project transitioned into structured workflows with regular status meetings and workshops.

These meetings help clarify questions, align direction, and most importantly, build a shared commitment around the project—something especially valuable when external consultants are involved.

Once again, it’s Ambolt AI’s grounded approach and technical expertise that allow us to add value at every step.
